I had the pleasure of seeing this movie in
the Drive-In last summer (1997). It was in my own opinion the
BEST movie of the YEAR!
When a Meteor is heading straight
for Earth...NASA scrambles together a team to go up on to the Meteor and
destroy it with a Nuclear Warhead planted inside it. Well you will never
believe WHO NASA came up with...Yep..the Worlds biggest NASA team had only
one choice...A team of Oil Drillers!!!
Well the Earth is in their hands.....Can
they handle it??
Bruce Willis is the owner of an
Oil Drill Business..and in the very first scene, you get to catch Willis
at his best...Yep playing GOLF off his Rig into a Boat of Nature lovers!
It was indeed a Good place to catch our attentions. Wills, Patton and the
rest of the Gang were not exactly head over heals in love with the idea
of going up onto a Meteor and saving the planet. Only Willis did. The rest
of the crew were against the idea at the start and with a bit of coaxing
from Wills, they all agreed. Which is when the Fun began, from being taken
in for complete physicals, to airplane rides to underwater challanges.
These men went through it all with mixed results!
Bruce Willis, Will Patton, Billy
Bob Thornton, Ben Affleck, and a host of other great stars put their all
into this movie and came up with a winner. It is well worth the time to
sit and enjoy. Also a Fantastic Present to that "someone" who collects
movies.
